Anticon® Blanket Roofing Insulation

Bradford Anticon is available with three facing types for different finishes and easy handling. It does not change the blanket’s declared material R-value.

Options

• Reflective Foil Laminate (RFL): General-purpose reflective facing. When fully lapped and taped, it functions as a vapour barrier. Duty grades: LD, MD, HD.
• Antiglare (AG): RFL with a low-glare surface for easier installs in bright sun. Available in MD and HD. Install with the antiglare side up.
• Acoustituff reinforced foil (Anticon Tuff): Polyweave-reinforced reflective foil for extra tear and puncture resistance on exposed, high-wind or high-traffic sites. Available in MD and HD.

Notes

• Only non-perforated facings that are fully lapped and taped act as vapour barriers for condensation control

1 Emissivity is the ability of a material to emit energy by radiation – the table above provides guidance to the degree that the facing material impacts the performance of the total system R-Value (RT) of the insulation blanket and facing material.
2 > Condensation control – please note that only facings that are vapour impermeable are suitable for condensation control, which requires all lap joints and penetrations to be lapped and taped at installation.
>3 Aesthetics refers to the visual appearance of the exposed roof after installation – the table above provides guidance to the visual appearance that can be achieved with the facing material based on typical installation conditions. Other application and installation conditions may affect the visual appearance of the roof. >
4 Acoustic performance of the facing material assumes the same base material.

Anticon must be installed during roof construction. If you're planning a new build or a major re-roofing project, timing your insulation decision is critical.

Ask your builder about including Bradford Anticon as early as possible, ideally by the Tender stage. Many standard building plans do not include anti-condensation or acoustic insulation, but upgrades can often be accommodated if requested early in the process.
